Esse Design got its start from the intersection of architecture and a recurring frustration seen on many Danish facades: the original facade lights, door handles, and signs are often the first things to disappear when a property is renovated. They are replaced by standard items from home improvement stores—functional, but lacking any connection to the building’s history.
What began as individual projects for clients seeking something better evolved into a comprehensive product universe: Portus, Noxlux, Voco, and Accessum—each a solution to a specific facade need, all designed using the same materials and with the same commitment to craftsmanship.
Today, Esse Design works with associations, public-sector clients, and private clients who share the same view: that a historic facade deserves details that are worthy of it.
